Oh what a lovely day we had....

the day we went to Ally Pally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday the famous "7" headed off for our twice yearly jaunt to Ally Pally and a great time was had by all. The drive down there was misty/foggy but during the day the sun came out and it was gorgeous.... Saw fabulous demos by Leandra, from Paperartsy, which meant, of course, having to spend absolutely loads!! and gorgeous creations on other stalls too. Its also a fantastic opporunity to meet up with friends met on forums - I met Clare for lunch which was really lovely. We all came home with full bags, empty purses (well apart from the £5 saved for a McD's tea on the way home!! lolx). It was a great day out in great company, thanks girls! see you all again next Saturday! lolxx

Right, down to proper blog stuff!! lolxx Thank you all for the lovely comments on my AI piece, I'd never done anything like it before, so am glad that it went ok....

Over on Tag you're it this week there's a sketch to follow, so here's my take:-

In the Pink at 30!

A friend turns 30 at the weekend. I can show her card here, cos, as a new parent she's got her hands far too full to go blog hopping!! lolxx

The card base is pink pearlescent and it doesn't matter where I go to take the picture the top always looks a different colour to the bottom (I even got Steve to photograph it yesterday, but, his photos are the same!). The papers are all scraps I've rescued !! (Reggie!! lolx) or had in the "scraps" box - the magnolia image has been coloured in using water colour pencils, primas and flowers, cricut circle and rub ons finish it all off!

I was recently asked by Wendy who produces the blog for Papermaze to do an article for their blog using alcohol inks - and it was published today - so, drop on over and let me know what you think, I hope that it inspires you to have a go with those inks and create some lovely pieces - if you don't have the supplies, Vanessa has put a link to items in her shop.

I prepared three items for the piece, one the cd is several posts down, the other was a layout, again from my Nans 88th party and the second a card using the inked acetate method!

All the papers on the layout are alcohol inked - a scrap was used to make the tag too.....The metal tag on the card has also been inked, and the butterflies were made by stamping onto waste acetate and when dry cutting out, adding some stickles to add bling finished it off!

Tag You're It!!

Over on the "Tag you're it..." challenge site the theme is "Dream"....so, here's my entry for this week.

I love this stamp and a dear friend bought it for me for my birthday...it was such a surprise and a very much appreciated thought xx

For all sorts of reasons I've not participated in as many Challenges on my fav challenge blogs as I would have liked, but, hopefully this week will see some more "efforts"....

As always, TFL xx

Old things....

I've been reading on a lot of blogs and forums lately about using up all that "old" stash we have lurking about. I'm a great one for getting hold of all the latest papers, but, can never cut them or use them incase I need them for that "special" something - needless to say I have an awful lot of "old" stash....so, taking the lead from some of my forum/blog friends, I decided to make this card using some of it

...as usual, if there isn't beads on my cards you can find the fantasy film butterfly!! lolxx

AI keyrings....

Guess who's found the AI's (alcohol inks) again.....isn't it strange how you use things within finishing them off and then they sit in the craft box until discovered again, several months later, with new found vigour!

The base of these keyrings is shrink plastic covered with AI's and shrunk, a piece of friendly plastic is placed on top and warmed then combed out, the edges are finished off with a krylon pen and then the whole thing is utee'd....one has a Tim Holtz clasp on and the other a keyring fixing....

Must say that IRL the colours are more browny/bronze, as you're all aware my photographic skills leave a lot to be desired!! lolxx

Altered CD

Being so highly critical of my work there's not many pieces I can actually say I like, let alone "love" - but, this piece is just so....vibrant, so bright, so unlike my usual "distressed" almost "grundgy" pieces.....but, I can honestly say "I like this!".......

The blue, almost turquoise, centre panel is "stream" distress ink with the silver mixative and stamped over, the bits cut out from around the sides have been used to make the punched swirls for the embellishments, the metal "fun" tag has been inked too, and the little flowers, are once again, remments of another inked piece......and of course, the obigatory beaded pin!! lolxx
