Saturday...............

has dawned cold and miserable - grief will Spring ever arrive and will the sun shine again?? Don't know about you lot but I'm getting fed up of this weather I need to see some sun............. lol

I made this last week at the Papermaze crop......I know you're supposed to scrap at crops but I hadn't had the chance to prep anything and if I'm honest we rarely get anything done other than chat, drink coffee, chat, eat cake and spend money at the shop!! lolxx I did get my puzzle back tho' - well all apart from one piece and we all know who was late with that don't we Vanessa!! roflxx I will photograph it today and show you all - it really does look wonderful together xx

I've left the majority of the card blank plain and stamped swirls from a Purple Onion plate in the corner, the flowers are OLD! they are from the original tin of prima hydrangas I bought eons ago and the centres are from some bunches from around the same time - a floristry pin finish that section off. The image, "Daisy" is a Sugar Nellie stamp by Elizabeth Bell and available from Funky Kits, who are also kindly sponsoring the fab goodies at TYI this week. This has been shaded with my watercolouring pencils, the edges were distressed and then inked with chalk ink. This was then layered onto a plain sheet of basic grey paper.

Tag You're it.....week 51

Good Morning....

Well its Friday again and that can only mean one thing.....time for another tag challenge.

The theme this week has been chosen by Dawn, if you've never seen her blog pop on over and be amazed by the gorgeous things she creates....anyway, the theme for this week is "Cute and Cuddly" - now thats not normally my style is it? lol but I did have a bash and thats the whole point of challenges isn't it, make you think outside the box and have a go at something different....

so, heres my tag for the week:-

The background was from a Crafty Individuals pad, the centre was cut out on the cricut with co-ordinations card stock and then embossed with the cuttlebug and then sanded the edges were then inked....bobble ribbon went across the bottom and then layered with a chipboard saying with a button attached. The image is by Penny Black and has been watercoloured.....a Love Elsie sticker and a clip from a stationers finish it off.....

Pop on over to the Tag you're it blog to see the other fab DT tags and also, this week theres another bumper pack of stamps kindly donated by Karen from Funky kits.- Funky kits are the outlet for the Gorjuss girls and the sugar nellie stamps, so pop on over and see what Karen has to offer.....so, taggers, take the plunge and join in and perhaps you could be the lucky winner....

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have contacted me about Ty - he's holding his own, his "wounds" aren't mending as they should, but, we're keeping our fingers crossed that they'll be able to start on the immune treatment as planned in another week.....

Basic Grey Challenge - rounded corners....

I just adore basic grey! I love all the collections, and if I'm honest have quite a few of them!!!

So, the basic grey challenge blog is right up my street - this weeks challenge is entitled "All Round" -so, here is my entry:-

The edges of the card blank and the paper were rounded with a corner punch. The background paper is from scarlets letter, the circle is cut using nestabilities and then embossed with the cuttlebug, the image is a Sugar Nellie Stamp and is one of Leanne Ellis' new images, this has been shaded using water colour pencils....the flowers were from a little selection I have hanging around!! lolxx

Hope you're all having a good week.

Our precious Ty is currently having an overnight stay at the vets as he's been very poorly just lately. So, not really thinking that straight at the mo, the house is far too quiet and still!

Tag You're it - week 49 - Time for Tea...

There are two very special reasons to pop over to Tag you're it this week.

One - we are on the look out for two more design team members - just leave a note to say that you're interested when you post your tag or leave a comment to say that you're interested and we'll pop along and visit your blog. The call will stay open until 27th March and is open worldwide.

and reason Two - is that we have some gorgeous stash to give away again this week. The lovely Regina from the The Cutting Cafe is giving away three great downloads to one lucky tagger. The downloads will be of the winners choosing. If you've never visited the Cutting Cafe pop on over and see what's on offer.

This weeks theme has been set by the lovely Kath and is entitled "Time for Tea"
So, to my tag.....

The background was chalked and then stamped in sepia ink. Faux stitching was doodled around the edge. Both the cupcake, which was painted with h2o's and then a bit of stickles added for candy, and the circular greeting are from downloads from The Cutting Cafe.

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of you who joined in last week. The tags were all totally gorgeous and we all really appreciate everyone taking the time to join us and hope that our themes encourage taggers to get creating.....

So, come on taggers join in the fun and you might be the lucky winner of those fab downloads...

Tag you're it - wings....

This week its my turn to choose the theme for the challenge over at Tag you're it....so, I chose "wings" - there are loads of things that this theme can incorporate; planes, butterflies, birds, insects, zetti......let your imagination run riot and go for it!!!!

Here's my tag for this week...

The base is a kraft tag - I then placed Heidi Swapp "butterfly" mini masks on the base and added distress inks, moving the masks around to get more coverage - the base was then spritz with cosmic shimmer mixed with warm water. The centre piece is a piece of stampbord, coloured with distress inks and stamped with a hero arts butterfly from a very old set! this was then hi lighted using stampbord tools and guess what? the edges were daubed with gold dauber!! (roflxx), this same butterfly was then used to "second generation stamp" over the background tag.... Using a butterfly stamp from another hero arts set I created some fantasy film butterflies which were then added, a few stamped words and some fibres finished it off....

Pop on over to the tag your it blog and see the fab tags the dt have come up with - I can't wait to visit your blogs and see what you come up with...

xx

sorry for the late post, I scheduled blogger to publish at 0800 hrs as normal and it didn't and now I can't get the schedule off!! anyone any ideas?? lolxx

Basic Grey Challenge 24 - pockets.....

Here is my pocket card for the Basic Grey Challenge blog...

The base of the card has been made from tan coloured bazzil cardstock. The front edges were then edged with brown chalk ink. The papers are all from the bittersweet collection. The paper ribbon front was scalloped using a punch, the flowers are from prima and a bit of bling finished it off.
The insert was made from cream card stock and edged with paper from the bittersweet collection and of course the gold dauber!! the label stamp is from inkadinkadoo and the flowers, which have been watercoloured, from Technique Tuesday.

I challenge you to....

Each month I challenge some of my cropping friends to alter something, or try something new - I've had them alter a mini domino, make a tag out of some given elements and last month I gave them a small jigsaw piece....I love seeing their faces when given the next challenge, some are pure horror!! lolxx

Whilst browsing in a charity shop recently I stumbled across some childrens big jigsaws. One in particular had 6 sections, so I decided to give 5 friends a piece each, they have a month to finish it and at the end of the month I'm going to put them back together, frame them and hang them in my craft room...there is no colour scheme and no theme, I just wanted a piece of each friends art!

so, heres my piece

The background is a mixture of all sorts, pink paisley paper, text, embossing, lace, bling, the face on the chalked stampbord is by cherry pie, the flower and centre are prima and the gorgeous saying on the shrink plastic came from Scrapz, not sure who thats by... and guess whats been daubed around the edges?? roflxx yep the ol' gold dauber! I should count up and see how many of my posts mention that item!!

Anyway, I sit up here in my craft room, creating away and all of a sudden it hit me! hard! you'll never guess what I've forgotten to do? say which way up the puzzle should be? I ask you? how flippin silly was that?? mind you I suppose I'll have numerous ways of hanging it hey? When its all back I'll take a piccie and share....

Ismaki sketch challenge

I'm not one for sketches, never seen to quite get it right - but, I'm in the mood to try new things and so when I stumbled across Ismaki challenge blog I decided to give it a go - I've got LOADS of birthdays in March and thought these new challenge blogs I'm stumbling across will help me make them all!! (well thats the idea!)

so, here's my take.....

The background is distressed edge co-ordinations paper which was faux stiched around the edge, the patterned paper comes from Pink Paisley, the lady, one of my all time fav stamps is by Rubber Stampede - and has been shaded using watercolour pencils. The felt is by Queen and co and the flowers by prima a bit of bling has been added to the centre.
