Month 3 - week 12 - CIRCUS....

Friday again and the last Friday of so many things....the last Friday in July, the last Friday of being this age!! lolx, the last Friday of the Postcard Challenge!

and the theme is:-

CIRCUS

Here is my take on the theme:-

The papers are all by T!m. The text has been hi-lighted using Ranger Sepia accents, the little tickets were a rak from Ang and were distressed using inks...the circus banner was made using 1" squares cut into a point and using rubons to write circus - different coloured mini gems were added to each point and then adhered to a piece of cord.....That clown doesn't look very happy does he?? lolxx

Pop along to SCD blog and see what the other DT members have come up with and we hope that lots of you join us this week - we love visiting your blogs and seeing what fab pieces you have created.

Next Month at SCD we have a great new challenge, a fab theme and a very special guest designer joining us......

month 3 week 10

Its Friday so its SCD day....and the last working day before the weekend - yipee...

So, this week at SCD its a colour week - any month which has 5 weeks will have a colour challenge or a sketch.....

Its still Postcard month, so must be 6"x4" or 4"x6" and this weeks theme is:-

TURQUOISE (or teal) and BROWN
black stamping and shading allowed, but, the main colours must be turquoise(teal) and brown

So, heres my attempt:-

The patterned paper is basic grey and the brown is plain bazzil card. The flowers are green tara (I think thats what they're called) the beaded pin was made using a head pin and various beads...the stampboard was coated with new adirondak alcohol inks and then stamped using hero arts stamps, text and lady, then highlighted.....tbh I'm not that good on this size canvas I tend to get lost on big pieces - twinchies and inchies are must more my comfort zone - but, the whole idea of SCD was to try "Something Completely Different"!!

Also, this week, we have some blog candy to give away:-

There are 12 6x6 papers from making memories and crafty individuals, mini postcards a little box with sections in which is full of lace, ribbons, stick pins, buttons, brads, charms and more!! so to be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is make your postcard, which must be solely for SCD, postcards made for multiple challenges will not qualify, pop on over to SCD and post your link and voila!! your entered. If you don't have a blog just email me here with a piccie of your postcard and I'll add it to the blog for you.

Pop on over to the SCD blog and see the gorgeous postcards the DT'rs have made!

Month 3 week 9

Oh boy what a week hey? last week soooo very hot and this week sooo very wet!! so typically English hey?

This week over at SCD we have the continued theme of POSTCARDS these 6x4" pieces are a great size canvas to explore new themes and have fun....this weeks theme has been chosen by Gez and she's chosen "VINTAGE"

Here's my take:-

Do you realise that for the first time in yonks I haven't prepared the background or used any inks other than a chalk eye for inking the edges and don't faint NO STAMPING was used to create this piece - must be feeling ill hey? Any way, the postcard is a mixture of old k&co papers, lace, flowers, stringed pearls, buttons and flowers...

Pop on over to the SCD blog and see what the other DT members have created and we'd love it if you joined in too - don't forget - if you don't have a blog but would like to join in email me your piccie and I'll publish it on the blog for you.

Month 3 - week 8

Its Friday again....I've just had a gorgeous week off and boy has the weather been good to us, for a change!!

So, we're on Month 3 of SCD and another great challenge:-

POSTCARDS
Size 6"x4" - can be used either way, ie 6x4 or 4x6
any colour any style unless specified by the theme set...

So to this weeks theme:-

FACES

Here's my take:-

On my craft mat I dabbed some distress ink, broken china, then spritzed it with water until droplets occurred, I then took a piece of white card and placed it onto mat and then swished!. Third coast goddess stamp was then stamped with black ink on top and hi-lighted with white pen, various other face stamps were then stamped into the hair and spaces...a little clay face painted with various inks was added along with a faces rubon and some mini gems....raffia around the top finished it off.

Please pop on over to SCD and see what the other members of the DT have come up with - there are some gorgeous postcards over there and I hope that you'll all be inspired to join in.

Don't forget that if you don't have a blog to display your postcards email me here and I'll post them at the end of the SCD post for you.
