So, being as its Friday - its SCD new theme day....and this week the theme is:-

BIRDHOUSE
This is our last house week and the last week with our lovely GD, Pia

So, here's my house:-

Base cut out of white card and coloured using distress inks. The birds at the bottom are a stamp from T!m Holtz's visual artistry pack and hi lighted with a white pen, the main image is again a T!m birdstamp, stamped onto text paper which was coloured with distress inks!! The little bird at the top and the circle are both cut on the cricut and hi-lighted with glossy accents. The word "Fly" is one from a cheapy pack of stamps picked up somewhere and has lost its label!! lol The text is computer generated.

We are currently looking for two new DT members at SCD. These are in addition to the current DT Team. So, if you're interested either join us this week and comment in your link, or there is a seperate post and leave your details there - the post is open until Next week.

MONTH 4 WEEK 15

...and boy aren't the weeks flying pass...we're nearly in September!!

This week over at SCD its still houses, any shape but no bigger than 3"x5" and this week its Ang's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen:-

WORDS/QUOTES
...must include wording or quotes of some description

so, here's my house of words....

itsn't it stange how some techniques you just keep revisiting? anyway, this week for a change, I cut my house out of plain white card and using distress inks created the background (roflxx), I then inked around the edge with distress inks just to give it a finished off look....using various stamps I then stamped all over the background and then scribbled around the edges. The centre piece has got a name but I can't remember it....its a piece of cardboard inked with versamark, then two coats of clear utee, then I inked the uteed panel and applied three different colours of utee before heating I inked up my stamp with black ink, melted the utee and whilst still hot pressed the stamp into it....I have photographed this house several times but it still doesn't show the purple/blue/turquoise colour...but, its near! after allowing the utee to cool I removed the stamp and voila indented is the quote! a bit of bling finished it off...

The dt have come up with some gorgeous houses over at SCD this week and the lovely Pia is still our GD, so pop on over and I hope you'll be inspired to create your own house of words...

on the build....

over at Bubbly Funk we recently had a house swap....there were 11 of us involved and so we made 11 houses. My pal, Gez, was unable to particpate, so I made 12 one for her...lol

Here are my houses:-
All the houses started off as white card - cut into shape and then coloured using distress or chalk inks or acrylic paint, one even had a piece of pattern paper (ouch!). Every house had a piece of stamping on it, whether it was a background stamp or a phrase on the card....alot of the stamps are paperbag studios with fill ins of others!

I have now got my houses back and will photograph them later...

WELL DONE SIAN

Week 14...and its....

Houses with the theme of "Greenhouses" as in flowers.... over at SCD

so, here's my "greenhouse"

The base started off as a piece of white card (why do I have all that patterned paper??), and coloured with distress inks....the house was then stamped with inkadinkadoo swirls and hi-lighted with a green pen and glitter added with a copic glitter pen thing!! (soz not into copics)...the prima flowers were stamped with black versafine ink using a Technique Tuesday stamp, and the little flowers are also a technique tuesday stamp, loads of doodles, a bit of bling and the current obligatory leaf finish off the piece!!

Do pop on over to SCD this week and see what the other Dt members have come up with and perhaps this week join us? The lovely Pia is still our guest designer and she has come up with the most gorgeous house....
