The last letter....

well folks over at SCD this week its the last letter theme - its been a fantastic month which has seen loads of players each week and lots of new ones taking part too which is just great!

Next month is our Birthday Month and we have something VERY VERY special lined up so don't forget to join us next Friday...

So, this week its Laura's turn to choose the letter and she has chosen:-

"X"

Ok so not an easy one, but, our SCD'ers this month have been extremely clever and come up with some fantastic takes on our theme so can't wait to see what you all create this week...

so, here's my piece:-

the base is stampbord which has been coloured using a variety of alcohol inks....then using a grungeboard letter as a stencil I scratched around it and then blocked out the relevant parts....the little metal flower is one of T!m's. I beaded some wire to make the hanger and the bottom is a length of beaded trim.

Pop on over to SCD and see what the others have created. The lovely Dawn isn't joining us for the next couple of weeks as she's eventually moving into her new house - so we all wish you well Dawn!

Tando Creative - flying solo...

Today is my first "solo" DT post over at Tando Creative.

Di sent me a few pieces to play with and as soon as I saw the frame I knew what I wanted to do with it... after seeing the pieces created in Tim's workshops for the few lucky ones, I decided that this would be a great piece to have a go with.....

The finished result:-

Firstly I prepped the chipboard pieces - the frame comes in two sections, the scalloped front and a base. Then you have the stand, which also comes in two pieces...
I painted all the pieces with acryllic paint and then when dry the frame front was dry brushed with acryllic and viva ferro added to a corner, stamped over and then dry brushed with paint.
Using some scraps of left over paper which had been stamped, embossed, distressed and AI'd I adhered fragments and created little gems....These were then placed around the frame and a couple of pieces of Tim's Ideaology range adhered too....
The centre is a piece of Tim's new paper range with Wendy Veechis stamps stamped onto distressed grungepaper....

The stand was stamped with Purple Onion stamps and then embossed before being dry brushed with paint...
and, as you can see will make a great stand for photographing all those "other" pieces...

TFL and I hope you like my first "solo" piece.

Here's my "H"...

Its a "House" ATC.....painted with acryllic and then dry brushed over with windows and doors sketched in and coloured with gel pen....rub ons and doodles were added and the butterflies were cut from a Martha Stewart punch, layered up and bling added for their body....

"D" time...

Its my turn to choose the theme over at SCD this week and for my letter I've chosen "D"...mainly as its my fav stamp!! lolxx

So, here it is....

The base is a tag cut out of white card, this was then coloured using various distress inks which was then splattered with water and the edge coloured using rusty hinge di. The main "D" is one of my fav stamps, the border stamps at the top and bottom are by Technique Tuesday....a little dragonfly charm with a glass effect tail and some fibres finish off the piece.

Last week was fab over at SCD we had so many players it was GREAT! and we really appreciate everyone taking time out to join us...especially when there are so many challenge blogs out there, pop on over to SCD and see what the other DT'ers have created and hopefully lots more of you will be inspired to join us.

B is for....

Continuing on the alphabet theme over at SCD, this week Ang has chosen the letter:-

B....

Here's my effort...

B is for......bingo, butterflies, buttons and bling!
The base was created using DI's on white cardstock, the stamp is by my hero, S!r Tim, then tiny papermania buttons were added to the numbers. The butterfly is by hero arts and was stamped onto patterned paper and cut out, dimension was created by using silicone gel, tail and body were blinged up! The bingo counters on the side were hi-lighted with white pen and then glossy accents added.

Pop on over to the SCD blog and see what the others have created, we would love to see what "B" pieces you could create.

Have a lovely weekend.

ATC's

The lovely Chriss Rollins runs a monthly ATC swap which can be found here.

She patiently sorts and organises and does a great job of providing us all with great GD's, fab candy to win and a great challenge.

So, the theme for March was "Garden Fairies"...

so, here are my efforts...

The backgrounds were created with DI's, various stamps from Paperbag studio, Cherry Pie, Tim Holtz and crafty individuals and a bit of doodling...the images are all stamps (apart from the child sat on the mushroom which is an image from Lisa's altered art), stamped onto white card and coloured using water colour pencils, wings were hi-lighted using stickles and a bit of stickles were spread onto the background to create fairy dust!!

Pop on over to Chriss' blog and see some of the great atc's created both past and present.

and this time I am late!

after my gaff Friday! I am days late with this post. I am catching up tho'!! lolxx

Over at Vanilla Sugar this month its time to create some birdhouses....bird and bird themed pieces are everywhere at the moment, so it wasn't too hard to get hold of a birdhouse to alter, this one started off as wood....and here's what it ended up like this:-

and a side view:-

and the other side

The bird house was first painted with distress paint - bad move! now, has my paint gone off? or is it coz I'm used to and prefer the viva crocco? either way, wasn't impressed, and a la Carol it got changed!! lol I daubed distress ink over it to try and hi-light the cracks and add some depth of colour....then i stamped onto the piece with stamps from technique tuesday. The bottom and roof were coated with ferro gold iron and then stamped into whilst still wet, acryllic paint was daubed on when dry to make it look realistic (you know what I mean!!! roflxx) Grungepaper was coloured with distress inks and spritzed with glimmer mist and then birds from the Rhonna Farrer "nautre stamps" cut out and adhered, using silicone gel, to the box. The butterflies are by hero arts and were stamped onto white card and cut out, using my spray booth (aka old cardboard box) they were coloured with glimmer mist, tiny beads added to form the body and a bit of glitter finished off the wings. The side was adorned with a painted heart and a key!

Take a visit to the Vanilla Sugar blog and see the other birdhouses - they are totally gorgeous and perhaps you'll be able to join us this month.

A day late....

I'm late again!! but, you'll forgive me I'm sure.

My son has been in hopsital now for near on 4 weeks. Daily visits after working all day have left me on my knees if I'm honest! Anyway, after getting our hopes up on Tuesday to have them dashed at the last moment - he was allowed home yesterday. We're not out of the woods by a long way, but, he's home, he's got the entire hospital pharmacy with him and he's still on bed rest, but, he's here where we can look after him. So needless to say I'm behind with everything! I'm actually having a crafting afternoon and am hoping to play the catch up and get ahead game!! lolxx Also,to my dear friends that I owe emails too, I haven't forgotten you and will catch up with you soonxx

Right, so down to craft business!

A massive Thank You to everyone who joined in the trinchie month last month at SCD....I hope that some of you tried something new...and by visiting all those lovely blogs I know that some gorgeous pieces were created.

As its the 3rd April, a new month and so a new theme....This month its slightly different - we are going to have a different letter per week and you create what you'd like! so, a card, inchie, arch, layout, bookmark anything as long as you use the letter of the week.

To start us off, the talented Gez has chosen the letter:-

"W"

Here's my offering:- W is for Wish.......

I have made an easel card out of sage coloured bazzil, then covered the panels with Pink Paislee's new paper range "queen bee". The image is from funky kits and was stamped and then washed with distress ink...her wings being hi-lighted with stickles. The chipboard flowers were coloured with the same DI (wild honey) and a bling centre added. Little pearls finished off the top section. The "Wish" panel is a chipboard piece covered with paper from the same set, sanded and inked, the wording "wish" are rub on letters by MM....

Do pop on over to the SCD blog - its amazing that everyone thought of something compeletly different for "w" ! and hopefully we'll inspire you to join in....
