Mr Mojo

where are you??

I have a room full of stash and no inclination to go in there... I bought the new dylusion ink sprays and they are gorgeous - but even those didn't do it!!

Last Sunday I sat in there and decided just to throw some bits together, no schedule, no guidelines and no pressure and this is what I came up with...

loads of paints, stencilling, doodling with charcoal pencil, stamping, stickers....everything just sat there and played...perhaps mr mojo will now pop his head up!!??

Same But Different - Tando

Over on the Tando creative blog the DT Members are having a challenging time - a selection of us were sent the same pieces of chippie and this week we are showing our "Same but different" pieces...we were all given the new straight edged, small frames (for some reason I can't copy the image?! not sure why).

This is what I made with mine...

We were given five complete arches which consisted of the back plate, inner frame and outer edge.  I removed two inners and one outer and this formed my "trio".  Each part was coloured using distress inks and then stamped with various stamps....these were then all spritzed with perfect pearls.  Two stars from the stars grab bag were coated using the fran'tage embossing enamel in bronze with sprinkles of aged black and aged ivory.... the middle section has the inner adhered to the backplate, the stamped quote is one from my stash and I can't remember which make it is....the swirl has been cut from a Tando plaque and was coloured using distress inks and then embossed with one covering of utee.... I glued all the sections together and then using tape bound them together at the back ensuring that they stood freely.....

Pink and Cream

not the usual colours I craft with, but, I do like to create birthday cards that the recipients will like, so, for my sister in law I created this:-

The papers are "14" from Crate paper, the flowers are very old prima bases with newer smaller blooms on the top, various other elements have been added like vintage ribbon stained with distress stains, prima bling, coins, prima genie stone, pins and various other bits.....the image is an old stamp that I discovered whilst having a sort out - she has been coloured in using watercolour pencils.

I would like to enter this card into the Ribbon Girl Challenge....

Thinking Inking with Tando

The theme over on the Tando Creative Blog this week is

THINKING INKING...

no, we're not talking tattooing!! lol, but, the various ways to ink the Tando Chippie...

This is my piece:-

The ATC base was coloured using three different distress inks - the white board allows the ink to move and mix really easily - then I used the New Neil Walker Tangled Yarn Mask inking using another distress ink.  I then hi-lighted the lines using a charcoal pencil then buffed up the act....I really liked the finished effect and was seriously thinking about leaving it as was, but, thought better of it!! lol.  I doodled around the edges and added a couple of mini flowers - which had been inked with distress ink, outlined the edges and added a bit of bling, a couple of small hearts from the hearts mini bag which was inked with distress ink and edges inked and a mini leaf which was coloured using the distress ink and then a layer of crackle glaze added.

Tando Blog Hop

This month over at Tando Creative the bloghop theme is...

...and you should have reached me direct from the Tando Creative blog....if not, pop on over and see what its all about!

There is a great range of arches available from Tando in both grey and white board, so something to suit all tastes and crafters..

so, today I have created this piece:-

I have inked the base and one of the frames with distress ink and then stamped a Lynne Perella Image onto the base and inked a paperartsy text stamp and a cherry pie crackle stamp and stamped these with black ink onto the top part of the frame.  To add more definition I have used two outer frames.

The next hop is over to Katherine - leave a comment at each hop and for one lucky hopper there is a selection of Tando Arches...if you get lost along the way just pop back to the Tando Creative blog where you will find a published list.

Good Luck and TFL

Happy New Year with Tando Creative

Over on the Tando Blog this week the theme is "Happy New Year" - so, here is my piece:-

the base is a canvas board.  Using the Tando distorted harlequin mask I used texture paste straight onto the board along one side and then added a couple of pieces in the far corner.  I then added some Tim Holtz tape and a border strip from a die cut.  Once the texture paste had tried I then painted over the base with a variety of acrylic paints.  I then added hi-lights to the raised parts with various colouring mediums.  Taking a section of Tando banner, two ribbons from the mini parcel set, a star, set of bells, and a couple of wonky trees all from the Tando Mini Section and the "Happy New Year" text - these were all painted and some stamped then painted with Rangers crackle rock candy paint.  To finish it all off bling was added....

FEELING BLUE

is the theme over on the Tando Challenge blog this  month and I'm the first one up with this piece:-

Every year I make myself a book, of some description, to record birthdays, challenges, dt piece requirements etc - one even has a very special signature in it!! so this year its blue....  The base was stamped onto the packaging from the Tando chipboard packs.  This was then covered in paper which had texture paste added via the Tando distorted harlequin mask, paint was then added over the top.  Spray inks and various paints were then added.  Taking a small bookplate, bird, various leaves and flowers from the mini packs, a cog, butterflies and a star I painted them all various shades of blue before adding rangers rock candy crackle paint which turned all the blue pieces the same colour!! I did add a blue distress ink over the top to try to split the colours up.  bling and a coin was added to the mixture.

Further pages were stamped and coloured and then the book bound together using a bind it all.

Do pop on over to the Tando Creative challenge blog.  Each Wednesday a different member of the DT showcases their work and the challenge theme runs for the month - for one lucky participant there is a choice of gorgeous Tando goodies up for grabs....pop on over to the blog to take part.

Happy New Year!

to you all - and I hope that 2013 is filled with much love, happiness and good fortune for you all.  I also wish you all a successful year as you all continue on your creative journey...one that I hope reaches many peaks, although we all find loss of mojo and a few pieces that don't quite work along the way!

2012 was not too bad on a personal note - we all stayed intact with no major incidents, something which we hadn't managed to do for a few years! a couple of minor catastrophes but nothing major.  The crafting front was ok nothing new to report - I did start to dabble into art journalling tho' which I thoroughly enjoyed and hope to do more this year.

2013 I hope to make a few changes to my life and my crafting.  I'm having a major sort out of my crafting supplies, anything not used for the last year are on their way out! I'm also heading for a big "0" birthday this year and am determined to be fit and fifty not fat and fifty! lol so thats a major hurdle to achieve I tell you.....especially since stopping smoking, 13 years ago today, I've turned to food as a comfort.  I've also been asked by Vanessa at Papermaze to do some regular classes so watch this space as I intend to push you all to your limits! lol

So, onwards and upwards lets get this year going....Happy New Year to you all xx
