Tando Colour challenge

Hello! its nearly the end of June, where on earth is this year going? its really scary how time is flying… just seem to start a new month and its over…its Colour theme week again over on the Tando Creative blog and this month these are the colours to use:-

Not the usual colours I'd work with, but, thats the whole point of pushing the boundaries and working on these themes isn't it!

So, here is my piece:-

This month I've used the smaller mixed media board as my base and layered on Paperartsy paints, the stencilled thro' Tando masks:- have your say and the sequin waste…. these where then hi-lighted using white and black pens…. I also stamped in paint and added treasure gold to the sides… the mini butterfly, mini flowers and mini arrows were all painted using the same paints and then hi-lighted using the black and white pens…perfect pearls and beads were also added to add some definition.  The saying in the middle is a very, very old Hero Arts stamp - one of the first ones I bought I think….

There is still time to join in with the challenge over on the Tando blog - pop on over and if you're lucky you might be the lucky winner of some fab tando goodies…

90 years young

so, today, a week on from my sons birthday, is my Nan's… who is 90! she had a visit from the Mayor this morning and a lovely bunch of flowers…such a shame she knows nothing about it!

I made her this card:-

The background papers are by Graphics 45, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the balloons are Tando… The bow is a Tim Holtz die and cut in cream card, outlined in distress ink and a bit of bling added….

heat it up

Over on the Tando blog this week the theme is Heat it up…

I have taken a Karen Gothic Arch Frame and added Wendy Veechi green fern embossing powder to the outer edge and heated, whilst still hot I have pressed a stamp into the melted powder to give the edge a bit of texture.

My inner section was coloured using distress inks in fossilised amber and twisted citron I then stamped an image using black ink.  The white board means that the inks blend so well together with very little effort and the colours stay true.  The board takes heat and moisture without bending or warping in any way shape or form so is a great base to then add a layer of ultra thick embossing crystals and apply heat…

Pop on over to the tando blog this week to see more heat it projects.  Don't forget there is a challenge running every week visit the blog for more details and how to win prizes!

Can you bottle it?

This fortnight over on the Paperartsy blog the theme has been "bottles" I decided to make a journal page:-

My background started off as left over paint from the previous post - I always mop up excess paint and add to this art journal - there are loads, and I mean loads, of pages with paint on and nothing else just waiting for the day!! lol.  Last week I decided to add the paint using a nearly dry baby wipe which really mottled it down a bit - the colours were all fresco paint - I think it was amethyst, turquoise, and the two new  yellows from Lin Browns colours (can't find them now!!) I stamped, in fresco old gold paint, the circles from Ellen Vargos plate EEV06. I added paint thro' a piece of sequin waste, stamped my faithful text stamp with snowflake and doodled with black and white pens….washi tape was added and Tando bottles were painted with pewter and then outlined with my black liner pen and then a coat of crackle added - I had already done this and discovered that my black ink had run when I read Leandras post which said to heat set!!! duh, I think the runs add a little something lol but I will remember this tip for the future…. the tando heart was painted with red and the tando arrows painted with old gold….my titled was a tando stencil using little black dress.

Hope you're all enjoying this gorgeous weather.

June

Can you believe that today is the 1st June? where is this year going? to be honest, not a happy year for us, its four weeks tomorrow since we lost Ty and its still hard going - he has left such a big hole!

Today is also the start of a new week/month over on the Tando Creative blog.  As usual the first week of the month is a colour theme month and this month this is our colour way…

so, with that colour palette to play with, I have created this:-

The base, a mixed media board, was painted white and once dry fresco paints added in turquoise, tango, amethyst, buff and another I've now put away and can't remember!! lol…. I used these colours thro' out.  The base was doodled on and stamped - mini arrows and flowers were painted and doodled on and then a coat of Tim Holtz's distress glaze added… the owl was doodled on and glossy accents added for his eyes.. all elements available in the Tando shop.

Pop on over to the Tando Creative blog for loads more colour pieces this week.
